Good morning everyone!
Eldad and Medad missed Moses’ retreat with the elders, yet God’s Spirit came upon them. God meets us right where we are. Let us be open to the promptings of the Spirit in our own lives and allow God to come upon us.
In the first reading, the Lord takes some of the Spirit that was on Moses and bestows it on the elders, and they begin to prophesy. James writes to warn the rich of the judgment coming to those who seek luxury and pleasure, while shortchanging their workers. In the Gospel, Jesus speaks against intolerance, referring to someone who is not a follower who is driving out demons. He says: Whoever is not against us is for us.
Let us pray especially for our faith community, that the love of Christ may shine though us in our work of spreading the Gospel.

Bishop's Pastoral Letter re: Exemption from COVID-19 Vaccination
While the Diocese respects the freedom of a person’s individual conscience as the Church teaches, the Church and her ministers cannot objectively attest to or endorse a person’s process of discernment in coming to their decision of conscience. First Reconciliation & First Communion
St. Joseph Parish warmly welcomes any child from Grade 2 and up to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of First Eucharist. Monthly preparatory sessions will take place at the church throughout the year.

Tomorrow - St. Joseph's final Waffle Sunday in support of Elizabeth House!
Thanks to your generosity, St. Joseph was able to raise $2,725 for Elizabeth House through various Ride for Refuge fundraising, including the Ladies' night, Waffle Weekend, and other fundraising efforts!
Although St. Joseph's team has reached their goal, Elizabeth House has not reached their Ride for Refuge goal and there is still a lot of room for our generosity! Last week, Fr. Marek's delicious waffles collected almost $800 in cash, and much more online. We can't thank you enough! But he still has a lot of flour, whipped cream and berries compotes to make for the final waffle Sunday, and will generously give his time to bake another batch of waffles tomorrow.
After Sunday Masses this weekend (9am, 11 am and 5 pm) stop by at St. Joseph's garden and have some waffles! You can give what you can in exchange for some fluffy and delicious waffles - all to support young pregnant and parenting women in need of a safe and supportive place to live.

The 107th World Day of Migrants and Refugees (WDMR) will be celebrated this Sunday, Sep. 26, 2021. The theme chosen by the Holy Father for WDMR 2021 is Towards an ever wider “we”. In response to his call to ensure that “after all this, we will think no longer in terms of ‘them’ and ‘those’, but only ‘us’”, we are sending you some materials to help build this “we” together.

An Environmentally Sustainable Lifestyle
The need for urgent action to combat the social and environmental crisis isn’t anything new; there are more and more global alerts to try to raise the awareness of humanity that something must change. But as Pope Francis wrote in Laudato si´, “It would hardly be helpful to describe symptoms without acknowledging the human origins of the ecological crisis.” This is why it is imperative, first of all, that we reflect on the lifestyle we lead, to see to what extent our actions harm the planet: “Especially during these moments of health, social and environmental crisis,” Holy Father says in The Pope Video, let us “reflect on our lifestyle. Let us reflect on how the way we eat, consume, travel, or the way we use water, energy, plastics, and many other material goods, is often harmful to the Earth.”
